The campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York last November.
However, Katie looks surprisingly edgy in this shot and quite androgynous, wearing a Miuccia Prada graffiti-spattered day dress. I actually didn’t think it was her at first glance and shows that she can get away from her girl next door image.
When I first heard that Katie was Miu Miu’s actress of choice this season, I couldn’t help but think it was an odd pairing. Miu Miu is a young, edgy label, attracting supercool patrons such as Chloe Sevigny. To me Katie is more classic in her fashion choices and maybe more suited to representing Miu Mui’s older sister Prada?
Vogue magazine has released pictures of Katie Holmes appearing in Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2009 campaign. Katie joins the ranks of Lindsay Lohan and Kristen Dunst, who have also represented the fashion house.
